Am for defending not attacking if they were only defending their host country i would be fine but its no otherwise.

my friends friend serves in the military. We talked about it one time and it went terrible. I thought he was gonna shoot me or something

If they just want to get military training that's fine however if they go to war in Muslim lands then

Trust me they won't after the 90's. There was a huge scandal that led to the cancellation of an entire airforce division after they killed and tortured some kid in Xamar. But they are in Afghanistan.

I got a friend in the army right now. Dude managed to skip Afghanistan deployment and is basically chilling, had his school paid for, and getting decent salary for his age. The trend seems to be for countries to pull out and less combat these days, so I dunno how to feel. Guess its situational.

Serving the military in the West renders one a robot. You have to obey orders, even if it means torturing or killing innocent people, invading and occupying nations (without provocation), etc. You must shelve aside morality in order to obey orders. If you question or reject orders, you yourself become an enemy of the military. Also, once you join, you become the property of the military; it can do with you anything.

I got no problem with it... its a job that provides security. I saw this one Somali kid on campus who is graduating next year and he's like "shid, if I can't get a job within 6 months, I'm gonna go HAM and join the air force"
