Britain's new year resolution: intervene in Somalia

Cameron claims failed East African state poses a direct threat to British interests
David Cameron describes Somalia as "a failed state that directly threatens British interests" and will convene a summit in London in February to bring together the countries currently active in the Horn of Africa state. A number of key decisions are expected to be made there, ranging from humanitarian aid to military missions

Intervention tension: UK eyes ‘failed state’ Somalia
With the Libya campaign seen as mission accomplished, Britain reiterates it is eyeing another conflict-torn African country – Somalia. The UK cites threats to its national security, but some analysts say this hides a self-interested strategic agenda.

Earlier this week, the UK’s international development minister, Andrew Mitchell, called for “urgent action” in the impoverished country, as “Somalia is a very direct threat to the security of the United Kingdom”, as quoted by Agence France Press.

Pakistan Observer
Mogadishu—Britain is apparently preparing its troops for the next oil war in Africa after Prime Minister considered Somalia as a “failed state” that has been threatening Britain’s interests and security. As the British government considered Libya’s regime change as a victory of the Nato forces, it is now looking for its next humanitarian intervention in oil-rich states in the Middle East and Africa.

I wonder how many would support a British invasion? I sure wouldn't.

Reaction to Turkey's involvement in Somalia. UK doesn't give a hoot about Somalia except for its resources and sees an expanding Turkish role as a possible threat.

While Somalis are bickering about who said what, who supports whome, who is more relgious than whom, OTHER NON_SOMALIS will decide the fate of Somalis.

Small minds are preocoupied with small things.

I support military intervention in Somalia.
But I doubt the British public would be willing to sacrifice their sons for a country that is a mere nuisance at best.

How many years have Somalis been saying there is valuable materials and resources in the country and that invaders will come to take it, but to this day there has been no show of it at all.

So why on earth would the British of all people send foot soldiers and an army to invade somalia with no proof of anything
