Eating two slices of bacon — or one sausage — a day can increase a person's risk of developing pancreatic cancer by 19 percent, a study out of Sweden has found.

Pancreatic cancer kills 80 percent of people in under a year of being diagnosed; only 5 percent of patients are still alive after five years, according to The Guardian

this still does not change that fact that a british or swedish person who were eating pork all of hes life have longer Life expectancy than Somali or saudi person who never eat Bacon.

Somali males Life expectancy is 52 years old and the british or swedish pork eating male is 77 years.
so those western prok eating people still have longer Life expectancy than non pork eating Somaalis.

this still does not change that fact that a british or swedish person who were eating pork all of hes life have longer Life expectancy than Somali or saudi person who never eat Bacon.

Somali males Life expectancy is 52 years old and the british or swedish pork eating male is 77 years.
so those western prok eating people still have longer Life expectancy than non pork eating Somaalis.
well they have access to clean water, good healthcare, education, housing and on top of that peace etc.
but chronic diseases such as cancer, heart-disease, stroke and suicide is epidemic and kills thousands every year, which isn't the case for Somalia

the research does not say pork meat its says only Bacon and sausage. sausage/bacon does not need to come from Pork meat. they can even be a chicken or any other meat.
the reason Bacon and sausage is no good is its a processed food and contians not only meat but many other producs.

Somalis have a bigger issue than that.Most of Somalis i have met over the age of 50 have either bloodpressure/diabetes or both together.And cholestrol is almost a given,considering how much red meat is consumed.

I believe the nitrates in bacon and sausage, as well as the smoke, contribute to the health risks from preserved meat. ;)

I think the problem with Somalis isn't red meat. I think that's usually exaggerated. Our problem is sugar, either in the form of pure refined sugar or through useless carbs. We consume way too many sugars. A balanced diet with proteins and good fats wouldn't hurt.
