When The Imam fails @ Tajweed.....

Postby Advo » Wed Jan 18, 2012 9:21 am

Like the good shiekh was not blessed with the best vocals but in his mind his like his own tajweed A-list star and his attempt to sound like shiekh sudeesi kind of sounds entirely different to everyone but him. I am sorry but I cannot control myself into NOT bursting out laughing and my bad deed always passes onto my whole row and they themselves try not to but end up joining me..Istaqfurallah I think shaydaan knows my weakness

I learned long time ago trying to control it will result in "LOL" on steroids. Any attempt to suppress laughter just ends up bottled up inside trying to be released. First my knees shake, then my ribs shake.... my tummy rumbles and my eyes change colors, veins start showing up and it's matter of seconds before disaster.

hey atleast in my defense it was a sufi masjid

Tajweed isn't simply how he sounds, but how he pronounce the words and combination of words. Sometimes even, you'll find a "shaykh" who can barely manage to pronounce the letters properly. This sends a shiver down my spine and there is no way I can follow what he's saying.

I burst out once when an old man in front of me farted loudly and left the row. Istaqfurulah, hardly control myself.

 can't really blame you for that, what happened afterwards? Did others join you in laughter or did you get told off after salah?

I cant stand it when the imaan makes too many mistakes or gets stuck not knowing the next verse, this is not laughing matter to me it actually does piss me off cus i am trying to pray, if its a new young imam or very old i am more patient with them. I also hate it when Pakistani Imaams get cocky and start uttering words at the speed of light and no one can recognize what he is reading. I like Somali Imams and Arab imams because they read the same way, during taraweeh i love to stand up for hours at a time, its amazing . 8-)
when i was younger i use to take the piss, shouting out "Allahu Akbar" after the imam instead of saying it quitely, i also use to stamp on my mates feet and giggle, there were guys even biggers sinner then me who use to run up and kick you during sajuud, i always thought i was better than them because i faced mecca at all times and didn't break the line. Ilahay iga cafiyo. when day i wasn't playing and my mate did it, i starting crying first but then began cursing him all during my Salat. :|

I almost burst out laughing the other day when the imam was reading a surah (not al-fatiha) with the verse "wa la dhaaliin" in it and some random guy shouted "AMIIN!".
