Attempting to actually describe the colour might not work out. Give them something to attribute the name of the colour to, then perhaps they'll be able to refer to it in the minds as such.

"Blue" is a random and arbitrary word. It has no real meaning. It's a random sound made to refer to a colour. Some one looked up at the sky and probably in trying to say "ooooo" had food in his/her mouth, which resulted in "brooo".

Colour is entirely visual. Might as well give speech therapy to a mute.

green would be the sent of freshly cut grass
red a slap on the shoulder/face... or warmth of the sun
yellow would be the scent of freshly cut lemon
orange, the taste of a carrot
white would be cotton
gray would be the scent of smoke


and you can see where I'm going with this. Having a reference in their mind might help them at least keep track. You should as a blind person this question. I can also imagine they would use emotional ques as reference points.

Really though, I think this is impossible.
