Maxamad Siyaad Barre was Madaxwaynihi Somaaliya for 21 years, who was involved in the developement of the country, the policy making, the social movements, trans-national politics, the cold war, active in African politics, etc. I am simply amazed at how some people can see him just as one clan's president, like modern day warlords. I am NOT interested, but I think there should be more Hawiye and ReerBanadiri than anyone else including Marehan. I know many marehans who did not like siad barre or his government.

BTW I heard that the book if full of pictures? is this self-publishing? the guy is very young to talk about a complicated leader like siad barre, I should think. what do you say?
