Dhagax tuur won't be forgottet so they didn't die in vain. They are role models for the future Somalis.
I could be wrong but i believe Dhagaxtuur was symbolic hero, But Maxamuud Xarbi and Sheekh Barsame are two great Somali freedom fighters.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawo_Tako

She was in a crowd, throwing rocks, when the constabulary fired into the crowd.
Open your eyes bro, the constabulary were not using Falaaro (Arrows) it was Somali arrow that killed Xaawo Taako as you can see her statue which was sold as scrape by Xildhibaan Osman Ato and Co in 1991. i call that second murder scence of Xaawo taako.

Xaawo Taaako; waxaay aheyd Marwo Soomaaliyeed oo ka mid ka mid ahaa hormood kacdoonkii Hanoolaato ee ka dhacay meelo badan oo ka mid ah Soomaaliya 1940s.
Waxaa aheyd Gabar Soomaaliyeed (Bartire) oo safka hore kaga jirtay kacdoonkaas, Xaamilo ama uur laheyd markii falaarta wadnaha looga dhuftay waxaana qabay sida la ii sheeggay hogaamiyigii kacdoonkaas Sheekh Xuseen Cali Hanoolato (Wagardhac) waxaana haleelay falaar ay soo gameen koox pro Italian ah ama taageersana Talyankii oo ku shirbaysay laajada Caliyaalo ama Aadan yabaal, waa sida ay ii xaqiijiyeen dad halkaay goob joog ka ahaa maalintaas.
Waa markii ugu horeysey oo aan ku maqlo taaariikhda halyey Xuseen Hanoolaato iyo halyeeyad Xaawo Taako inay isku dhaxeen ama is qabeen. Cabdirizaqow, walaalow, xageed ka akhrisay sheekadaan? Majiraan qof ka mid ah dadka Soomaliyeed ee halkaan isugu yimaada oo noo xaqiijinkara inay taariikh ahaan run tahay sheekadan iyo in kale?
Waxaa afkiisa iiga sheegay Allaha ha ka raali noqdee halgamaa Sheekh Xuseen Cali (hanoolaato) in Xaawo Cismaan aheyd xaaskiisii cunuga Xaawo sidayna uu ahaa ilmihiisii. kuumana sheegayo Sarjantihii Xabsiga u taxaabay Hanoolaato but you guess it?

I had a chance to talk with my grandma today and she said her ina adeer was not married to Xaawo Taako and that was romantic folk lore people came up with later after the anti-colonial struggle. Awoowe Hanoolaato led the anti-Colonial uprisings which wanted immediate independence for Italian Somalia during the 40's. Even though Somalia was not granted independence, the uprising influenced the decision to make a "trusteeship" promised independence in 10 years following the defeat of Italy in WWII. He was the predecessor to SYL. He personally took down the Italian flag from the Governor mansion in Mogadishu and chanted Somali Hanoolaato which is how it entered history in this context.

He had four wives, the first one was Habar Gidir, the rest Majerten (rer Khalaf, Ciise Maxmuud, and rer Mahad). Hamsa Hanoolaato who was a member of the Siad Barre government and now heads the Somali community in Holland is from the Ciise Maxmuud bah.

Brother Abdirizaq, I will have to take your word for this.. Sheekh Xuseen Cali Hanoolaato, aliihaay ha ka raali noqdee, was a first rate Somali hero, as anyone who judges such matters, would no doubt attest to. Having said though, and this is no way to question the veracity of your assertion or anything like that, but it still strucks me rather odd to hear for the first time that not only was Xaawo Tako real both in flesh and blood (for I, much like considerable number of other Somalis, have always thought of her as no more than fictitious character created solely for the purposes of symbolism) as Somali heroine but she was to boot also married to another Somali hero whom I admire and respect a great deal.

Barbaroosa are you Abdirizak? The writing style seems very similar and the camiraad/dhaga hadal over what I have said seems very obvious. Just so you know again, the guy was my mom's abti (his father Cali Maxamed Kooshin was the older brother of my mom's maternal grandfather Ciise Maxamed Kooshin). Their brother Adan Maxamed Kooshin produced another esteemed member of my mom's abtiyaal, Hussein Wayne, the well known Somali sea merchant before 1991. I have myself met a number of rer Hanoolaato including his grandchildern, some of whom have stayed with us.

He was not married to Xaawo Taako and that is unsubstantiated folklore.

Seemeyer, this is actual recorded history. Of course Hanoolaato is a Somali word, but the political context and the modern historical precedence had to do with that anti-colonial uprising started by my grandfather. He is well recognized north and south for it.
6. 5tii Octobar 1949kii dagaalkii dhagax tur iyo hanoolaato.

Yeah you're wrong. His sister lives in north west London. I think she said he was 18 when he died.

Voltage, no, I am not Abdirizaq. Just having a bit of difficult reconciling this new version of our history, regarding Xaawo Tako, with the one I grew up. Anyways, your grandmother's account of this story seems much more plausible than the one Abrizaq put forth in regard to Xaawo Tako being married Hussein Hanoolaato.

I was shocked myself when Sheekh Xuseen told us that story at the front of Sheekh Cali Suufi Masjid 1989 in Mogadishu. i dont know if their marriage was public or not but that was what the marxuun Hanoolato told us and that is all.

Allaahay ha raali noqdo Xaawo Taako iyo Sheekh Xuseen.
