To Win an Argument

Postby BlackVelvet » Fri Jan 27, 2012 3:34 pm

Would you say something that would make a person question their core beliefs?

Like if there was a fact that this person was unaware of and telling them this fact would make them see your point but would probably at the same time shake something in them. Would you say it?

When i was young and little bit honest than now i used to hurt ppl by telling what ever was in my mind as long as i thought it was the truth, these days i do self censorship unless i know the person very well i would not.

Okay let's say for example Basra believed that PO was gay and suffering from AIDS because Alpha told her so. This makes Basra very happy because she trusts Alpha completely and Alpha is a very important person to Basra, you could say he is what grounds her. So she has this information and according to her this is a fact which as an added benefit gives her explosive feelings. But Alpha told me that he was told by PrinceDaadi that it is good for Basra and ergo his relationship with Basra if she believes that PO has AIDS and is gay (not necessarily true, Alpha has no idea whether PO is gay or has AIDS).

So then if I tell Basra what PDaadi told Alpha and the whole reason for his telling her about PO I will win my argument that ...

OMG in this situation not only will you repeat what Alpha confided in you but you will also ruin Basra and Alpha's relationship! I just answered my own question. :|

Surprised that someone can be a corner stone/pillar that someone else builds their life around or that you would qualify as a reasonable example?

people and their actions should never effect core beliefs, let alone be incorporated into them
