Great job US, the more wars you wage the more dependent on oil you become, Hail to the great Saudi Arabia and Puntland.
I think Puntland would make an excellent location for several U.S military bases. Saudi Arabia has certainly been a good host.

If you weren't completely abject to the geo-political maneuvering that has been going on for the last decade, you would know that the US already mans and has established a large base in Djibouti, where AFRICOM is based. Why would they waste time making another large military base 2 hours away?

Get educated!

Why? Because the mammoth defense budget allows for it and there's never been a policy against having bases in two neighboring strategic countries.Any other misinformed comments you want to make?

It's been shown that these "cuts" really are insignificant. The U.S still will be spending more on defense than all the other countries of the world combined.
You make it obvious that your knowledge of American affairs is superficial at best. Ignorant headline reader.

Yet after 10 years they still haven't defeated a poorly equipped force  therefore let us not entertain the thought of taking on the future superpower China.

The U.S has won the war the conventional way. Kabul is under control, the major cities and towns are under under control, the Taliban has been routed and is now just an annoying insurgency that occasionally launches suicide bombs that kill and maim mostly Afghan civilians.

Taliban has been routed and is now just an annoying insurgency .
And yet the puppet government of Hamid Karzai are begging for peace talks
This doesn't sound like a defeated power to me
Hamid Karzai’s quest to broker peace with the Taliban,
Taliban not ready to talk peace with Afghan government; NATO report shows confident insurgents
