Not sure the exact name of the building but I know it was once a bar. I actually got quite up close & personal with the beach goers & I will be randomly posting other videos, inshallah

With a beach like that in the city, you can understand why others will always want to change that. 8-)

Regardless, the beach is stunning and so is the city and I'm glad that Al Shabab has been driven to the fringes. A few more years and I hope to see the bars reopened.

Yea, it was mid morning on Friday.

The Green Line died with Aideed. From the mid-90s, there has been regular & consistent interaction between the both sides of the Green Line & to the extent that Suuqa Bacaad became the warehouse for Suuqa Bakaaraha & South Mogadishu was dependent on Cisileey Airport & Ceel Macaan Port for trade since the ones in Mogadishu were shut down.

If your friend said that he couldn't go to Liido Beach because of the presence of "Abgaal militias" then he's simply a coward. Firstly, there are no specific "Abgaal militias" in Northern Mogadishu. There are Federal Troops throughout Mogadishu & they are drawn from each of the clans in Mogadishu. I remember speaking with a HG TFG commander in Hodan & I jokingly told him " you HG are still carrying weapons in Xamar" & he said I can bet you that if you talk to my immediate staff (not the troops I command) you will find every Hawiye subclan.

It's funny your Ceyr friend thinks the presence of "Abgaal militias" will stop him from visiting Liido, because the Interior Minister who happens to be Ceyr is guarded & defended by 100% Abdirehman Saleeban-Waceysle ASWJ militias. I am certain if such a high ranking HG Minister is comfortable with Abgaal militias, then a mere civilian like your friend shouldn't be having any problems.
