Nice vid Roving, looks like you were hiding a bit laakiin.

Murax, an uncle of mine came back from Mogadishu yesterday and I was looking at his pics. He was video taping all over including across from the parliament building and Ugandans are staring from a truck parked on side entrance, from Maka Al Mukarama road, and one time when he was pointing at Ali Mahdi's old hotel the driver can be heard joking with him i bet Ali Mahdi regrets going against the old government. I'll upload the videos when I get a chance, it was on his Iphone. The entire place basically looks like a Hurricane went through sadly but the people seemed jolly and carefree and the society is being retaught law and order again.

Also, another of my older brother is also coming back from a trip to Africa that included Mogadishu and I will tag myself on his facebook pics so you can see. Honestly Mogadishu is not totally safe, but from both of them tribal fight is over and the dollar is king and the one who has it is emporer.

Abdiwahab, are renovations over for Bar Fiat and if so check out the place for me sxb.

I definitely look forward to seeing them keep Me posted

Overall I think Mogadishu has seen a lot of progress over the past year no doubt and I think the locals are pretty much fed up of any nonsense. On top of that Mogadishu benefits of having the entire eyes of the International Community on them, so they get great exposure to the outside world. Good for them

That was the place I used to chill on Fridays after the beach. They do have really Nice stuff out there but I am personally not a shisha smoker so I didn't try it. It's little bit on the expensive side of things , I think it comes down to 20 bucks a person but the atmosphere makes up for it.

Is the owner Reer Nimcaale?

Murax,

You'd think I would share. Innovative business ideas are the most expensive commodities. Lets just say the days of AS were focking lucrative for me. I was out there finding local Somali orgs to do jobs for INGOs and pocketing commissions. It involved a lot of networking and large entertainment spending buying booze and expensive meals for donor agency staff in Nairobi.

Roving,

Nah, he is not. I believe he is Indhayar. $20 is too much bro. So is it true Ali Mahdi is opening a new hotel ?

In a public setting? I will say not at all. But in private settings, especially by the older generations & diaspora I will say a bit often.

Abdiwahab,

The thing is I want something where I can deal with foreign big wigs and fool, trick, maniuplate them. I have no interest in scamming My own people. I'm thinking something like being a bridge between Multinational corps and the Somali Gov

With Ali Mahdi you never know. But I was thinking his properties in Dubai & Roma/Milan would keep him busy for a long time

Indhayar Warsengali-Abgaal or Sacad?

Murax,

No one really asks at all. This is not Mudug/Galgaduud or all points north.

I loved being under the radar at the Saxafi where they thought I was a northern Sudanese modafocka until Ina Cisman Caato blew up my spot.

Roving,

I am told he and Madina Caamir got the contract to rehabilitate Digfir Hospital. I used to eat at his old restaruant back in the day and found him to be a very agreeable old man.

The guy is Indayar Sacad.

Qabil does not matter because the troops are blended in amongst the major subclans in Mogadishu. What matters is that there should be people that can vouch for you.

But in Madina it's obviously different. It's guarded by clan troops that are independent of the TFG. But even there, once you are from the area regardless of your clan, you will be fine.

Keep in mind, you will only be questioned at checkpoints at night time.

Being from the diaspora you will obviously stand out. The entire troops in Madina come from my very immediate family linage group & I remember this night I came late (~10:30pm) from shukansi & I got stopped at the checkpoint. They had me for an hour & even called their commander on me because they didn't think I was who I was saying I was. So if you are not from the dominant group in the area, having local folks vouch for you is a must. As in anywhere in Somalia, having a local support elements is a must.
