Retirement

Postby AbdiWahab252 » Sun Feb 12, 2012 11:39 am

Ever dream about it ? I can finally see it: getting up at 11 AM each morning, eating fresh papaya, pineapples, watermelons for breakfast, going for a walk down to the beach, swimming and lounging until lunch. Going home for lunch and eating some scrumptious fish curry and rice before retiring to my bedroom for siesta. Getting up at 4pm for caasariya and driving to town to smoke hookah and playing dominoes in Old town. Returning home at 8pm to have dinner on the front rooftop verandah.

That image keeps me centered when I face difficulties in shiddy spots.

P.S. I know many of you are no where near retirement but keep the eye on the prize as time flies.

I am way too young to be thinking about retirement. I can't picture it.

Not yet. I'm just getting started carving out my future & leaving a mark.

Once in a while, I do check craigslist for villas in Mombasa, Malindi, Lamu, etc. I'll probably afford one in a few years, inshallah.

Avicenna,

I am looking at getting a plot on Zanzibar or Bagamoyo. Good luck with your journey ! P.S. Are you headed to Mog ?

I also think about getting a nice plot in Naivasha (cool Rift Valley).

McCali,

I am retiring on Zanzibar Island.

A/Wahab - that's still the plan. I'm shooting for late June this year, inshallah.

The organization I'll be volunteering with will be based in the Shabelle region.

Still waiting on final clearance from my school to guarantee my work as internship hours.

abdi

i want to retire early..
but my vision of retirement is different, it does not mean that i will be doing nothing.
I will be free from working, and free to pursue my hobbies, preferably in a scenic place.
