^^^ Amiin ya rabb.

I think everything beautiful starts with prayer, I have never felt so good about anything else, nor have I ever felt such sweetness but during prayer. Sometimes, I am not even aware of it, then I might not pray for a while (ahem female), then you realise what you were missing. I love it so. Some status I was reading, by the Shaykh/Student of Knowledge, he said I have never found such peace/contentment/beauty/happiness in anything but the Sujood, and I have been to many places and seen many things.

Same thing with the Qur'an, this is the only book, that both Students and Scholars find/learn something NEW every-time they read it. For real' how many times have you read Surah Al-Khaf on Fridays, I swear every-time you are touched again and again.
Abu Eesa Niamatullah
Isn't it awesome how every SINGLE person whether scholar or layman who reflects upon the Qur'an, learns something new EVERY time? Miracle!
Yaa Rabb.

Becoming religious is easy, staying there is the challenge.

True, but I think there is 'rewards' in the stuggle to remain 'practising.'

religious is a secular term aimed at belittling those who practice religion. i never use that term

use the term God conscious or perhaps having more taqwa of your Lord instead.

people who become "religious" are almost always those with a checkered past. and the first thing they want to do is announce it to the world, whether it is growing a beard or wearing niqaab, its like they want to make up for all the sins they've committed when they should be focusing on changing their character. for the rest of us, our diin is a personal endeavor .

What? That's just crazy, so everyone who starts practising the religion has had BAD past? Crazy generalization there.

The deen is not personal, it is the to be shared. The religion is advice (naseeha).

BTW, yes doing extra does make-up for the bad things you have done previously! As far as I can see, this is a form of 'dawah' and inshaaAllah 1mansquad will get rewards.

Sinister, stop being xaasid. If you want to get there and commit, act on it.

im not xaasid. i just believe the diin is personal. and people who become "religious" have this holier than thou attitude that i dislike. nothing annoys me more than a former convict turned religious who now thinks he is qualified to give dacwa and lecture ppl. not to imply all religious ppl are that way.
