I frikken live in a 3 level Victorian house! With middle-class neighbours who pay £500,000+ for their houses! Yes, damn right I would live in similar houses as them but instead pay rent. If you feel like you want to buy a house in the country that you are, then all the more power to you, but me NO! I don't want it. $30,000 towards a house in the UK is a joke, but if he is buying me a house in the UK (£100,000), I would so forfeit a wedding for that.

Realistically, he can only afford a wedding not a house.
