Union to answer your question I'll give you a brief biography of a relavant Salafi Imam who lived in the 7th century and was a good frienf of Abu Hanifa.
During that time the Abbasites ruled the muslim world, many scholars were being executed by the Amir if they did not badmouth the Ummayad Dynasty, the political rival family of the Abbasites.
When the great Imam was called to the Amir's court and asked about his opinon on the Ummayads Imam Auzaee told him the truth. He said "Ya amirul mu'mineen (Oh leader of the faithful) [recognizing his great status although he was tyrannical] he continued to defend the Ummayad whilst being beaten up. After that the Amir admired his bravery and allowed him to be free.
We can learn in thsi story that no one fought this Amir even though he killed many scholars. this is not an excuse to fight muslims, also imam auzaee stil lrecognized him as amir.

Exactly, and that's the crux of the pointthat you made. The Amirs of those times were legitimate rulers.Put there by the consensus of the ulema of that time. They were not puppets been propped up by foreign powers

Grandpa, these salafis you describe are vastly different from the salafis we see in reality, who organize themselves to be a thorn at the side of legitimate secular Amirs. They are causing great finah, the Amirs must punish them.

Crazy crackpot theories that shouldn't see the light of day are not reasons for revolt.

The El-Nour party are fake salafis, jihadi-"salafis" are fake salafis these are just claimants to the true orthodox salafi doctrine. Here's a refutation of El-Nour party by a Major mufti in KSA. We never promote this senseless protests

These people need to stop obsessing about politicizing Islam, and focus on issues that are important. Issues such as job creation, security, agriculture etc. Egypt and Tunisia have proven by the mere fact that after decades of secular rule they have come in numbers to elect Islamic parties, if that doesn't show that these countries are Islamic than I doubt legislating Islam right now will do the trick.

Spoken like a secularist lap dog.
The prophet said.... 'I leave behind me two things, the QURAN and my example, the SUNNAH and if you follow these you will never go astray'.
What you call politicizing Islam is following the Qur'an and Sunnah.

God bless the Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamic group that has been in the political game for a long time

. The Union I call upon you to renounce this fear of Islam which has entrenched itself in your abdomen. The Muslim Brotherhood is a moderate group unlike the fat Saudis who waste time and money making sure that a women's hand touches not the wheel of an automobile. Do not be fooled by Al Grandpa Ibn Al Khalif who wishes for the super salafis to be the only influential group in the region. Egypt is undoubtedly the giant of the Arab world and the rise of the Islamists there shall put KSA to shame.
