I was born back home in Somalia 
I wish I came to this country in my teens because I feel like a failure for not tacking advantage of all the resource openly available to me like our new arrivals do. Oh how I wish I never came across hiphop music, all these time consuming addicting shows/movies, hanging out too much with friends in pursuit of fun activities, basically not having enough skills to discipline myself.

It shocks people, honestly. Like, most Somalis just assume that I'm at least a second generation immigrant. It kind of bothers me.Somalia, and not even in a hospital. I was born in a guri in a tiny, tiny tuulo.
