Reminder for all the Muslims, especially Union

Postby BlackVelvet » Fri Mar 02, 2012 4:16 am

We all get distracted but let's not add to our sins with "in my opinion" remarks and making up things about Islam.

And since it's Friday :rose:

Jimco wanaagsan everyone.

Union and DR Yalaxoow are just frustrated. No matter how many threads they make anonymously online it won't change the reality on the ground. Somalis are one of the most overwhelmingly muslim societies in the world. Only a few countries are considered 100% muslim. They have also become more religious in a lot of ways the past 20 years.

The snet gaalo can cry all they want but when in Somalia or amongst Somalis...they know better ......to play by our rules and keep their mouths shut. That's why they wouldn't dare expose their face on here.

Masha'allah waa run walaalo macaanto.

Jimco wanaagsan oo wacan dhaman walaalayaal! :rose:
Walaalayaal hala is cafiyo oo hala isku dulqaato, waxaynu nahay dad walaalo ah oo wada dhashaye.
In ta aynu noolnahayna waa ay iska yartahay oo waa ayaamo. Markaa walaalayaal waxa fiican in aynu wakhtigeena ka faa'ideysano oo shaqo iyo hawl wanaagsan qabano, Illahayna ku xidhnaano oo xasuusnaano.

Also, can you guys help me with this one problem, i'm compeletely lost and don't know what to do anymore. This is really complicated and my somali and english suck so i hope you'll understand me.

For the past 10 years my mother's suffered from paranoia schizophrenia. This is complicated but basically, she believes that people are out to get her our take us( me and my brother) away from her. From morning till night she's threatening the Wall and telling it to leave her and us alone. Waxay la hadlaysaana marna waa Illaahay, marna waa shaytan. It's really scary to look at her, especially her eyes.
And her health has getting worse and worse. Waxayna hadana billowday inay tidhaahdo cancer baa caloosha iyo the lungs igaga dhacay.
Dariskana way naga dacwoodeen oo waxay yidhaahdeen way buuq badan yihiin reerkani, hadda waxaan maraynaa digniintii 2aad oo ta 3aad guriga ayaa nalaga saaraya.
It's really uncountable how many times hada iskoolada laga soo tuuray. Seriously, magaalada oo dhan way yaqaanaan hooyahay.
As kids me and my brother had no help, we literally brought our selfs up and there was no father figure to help us, he left us, 16 years ago, when my brother was only 2 months old and apparently he also had some mental issues and used to beat her.

The big problem here my moms sisters are against me seeking help. They are saying that "Gaalada ayaa irbad ku mudi doonta oo dib dambe loo arki maayo" or "Gaalada ayaa idin qaadanaysaa oo dib dambe hooyadin u arki maysaan" Excuse me?! And the annoying thing is that they have no solutions to this problem and don't want to do a damn thing about it either. Well one of my aunts came here(illegally) to help us with taking care of my mom, last year. But..she...basically moved out a few months ago and said "Jeelkan kuma noolaanayo ee "ma'ca salaama".

Anyway, i'm not 18 yet but I'm old enough to make my own decisions and insha'allah I'll do whatever I can to to help my mother so brothers and sisters noo soo duceeya oo noo barya in hooyoday Illaahay noo caafiyo.
So, What do you guys think i should do? Should I wait till i turn 18, which is in may, should I listen to my aunts or should i seek help as soon as possible?

My time is limited since I'm at the library so bye for now. /Waves. :D

Bleach,

Ilaah hooyo ha caafiyo. I would seek help if I were you, older Somali people have mistrust issues with gaalo which for the most part has no basis. U can't just keep watching your hooyo go like that, so try to get her some help.

Description of Appeal to Fear Fallacy

The Appeal to Fear is a fallacy with the following pattern:

Y is presented (a claim that is intended to produce fear).
Therefore claim X is true (a claim that is generally, but need not be, related to Y in some manner).

This line of "reasoning" is fallacious because creating fear in people does not constitute evidence for a claim.

It is important to distinguish between a rational reason to believe (RRB) (evidence) and a prudential reason to believe (PRB) (motivation). A RRB is evidence that objectively and logically supports the claim. A PRB is a reason to accept the belief because of some external factor (such as fear, a threat, or a benefit or harm that may stem from the belief) that is relevant to what a person values but is not relevant to the truth or falsity of the claim. For example, it might be prudent to not fail the son of your department chairperson because you fear he will make life tough for you. However, this does not provide evidence for the claim that the son deserves to pass the class.

Examples of Appeal to Fear

1. "You know, Professor Smith, I really need to get an A in this class. I'd like to stop by during your office hours later to discuss my grade. I'll be in your building anyways, visiting my father. He's your dean, by the way. I'll see you later."

2. "I don't think a Red Ryder BB rifle would make a good present for you. They are very dangerous and you'll put your eye out. Now, don't you agree that you should think of another gift idea?"

3. You must believe that God exists. After all, if you do not accept the existence of God, then you will face the horrors of hell."

4. "You shouldn't say such things against multiculturalism! If the chair heard what you were saying, you would never receive tenure. So, you had just better learn to accept that it is simply wrong to speak out against it."
