Lionel Messi

Postby Jam Street » Tue Mar 13, 2012 9:38 am

When it is all set and done, where will the greatest Argentinian footballer rank among the all time greats?

Of all the players I have watched the last two decades there is only one player I would choose over Messi with the game on the line, and that is the legendary from Recife, Vitor Borba Ferreira.

A team of 11 Messi's would kill you time and time again, but a team of 10 Victor Valdes or Taribo West and a Rivaldo could on occasion do the same.

dude, i was thinking of making this exact thread...well almost.

messi's on his way to being the GOAT...and all we can do is sit back and enjoy this once in a generation talent. breaking records left right and center while still being younger than 25.

but Rivaldo?

Le Tiss is one of my all time favs but c'mon, i can name 3 current midfielders let alone players who rank higher than him...namely Scholes, Xavi, Iniesta.

Thuga, come on! Le Tessier will not even make the top 200.

1. Pele
2. Maradona
3. Messi
4. Zidane
5. Ronaldo

Rivaldo is in the same company as Ronaldino, Guilet, Rijard and Van Basten

When he made that statement the current Barca team hadn't gelled to the formidable team that they are right now

With all due respect my brother I am not going to discuss football with anyone who thinks Zidane, as fine a footballer as he was, was good enough to lace Rivaldo's boots let alone Van Vasten & Rijkaard.

Personal preferences don't count Thuga. If that is the case, I would have said John Burns, Ian Rush and Daglish to name a few.

Or even Dheereye, the guy who represented Waqooyi galbeed in the ciyaaraha gobolada. Or even sheeqalow who played for Muqdisho.

   I can see that you a football fadhi ku dirire. My view is shared by millions/billions around the world. I used to comment football as a living; I have watched Zidane and Rivaldo play. I have watched van basten and rijkaad on telly.

Zidane was what Messi is today a decade or so ago.

I am glad that we agree on Pelle and Maradona... and Messi

I was a supporter of the boys from Mersyside as long as I remember. I remember listening to the BBC in the 80s and I was thinking Allah must be a liverpool supporter and that the prophet SAW was probably the coach of the team.
