Mahiga has an air of arrogance about him towards SOmalis in general and their culture. I also saw a Somali guy on TV making some interesting allegations about this individual. Mahiga has allegedly being pissed off with Somalis from back in the day when SOmalia made peace between Uganda and Tanzania. Of course, this is all unsubstantiated.

Thug, unlike many of us here, i am not the jack of all trades or expert on everything. I like to leave matters to more knowledgable ppl. In this case, i trust the sheeekha

if he is not muslim , therefore as rest of prayers , most be tahaara/wothu. as rest of salats you need imaan/to be a muslim to do so.

How can someone that did not cleaned the proper Islamic dahuura and did not have wuduu and is not even a muslim pray at the first line of Salaatul jinaasa, this is disgrace to the deceased muslim and all the Somali people out there.

Sheikh sharif is not someone who is ignorant about our religion, he should be asked why he let Mahiga participate an Islamic prayer, because one of the Ducaa of the Salaatul jinaasa include the Rasuul SCW, does Mahiga a Muslim who accepted Mohamed SCW is the last prophet of the world and Messenger of god? I don’t think so, something is really fishy here and the family of the deceased should ask an open investigation

His arrogance or haughtiness towards Somalis is debatable but his wariness of Caalaa Shiikh group is spot on. Who are these guys? Who elected them to be guardians of Somali people or their religion? Where do they get the authority to compaign against women in parliament? Because this is what prompted Mahiga to give that infamous although misinterpreted interview, in which he exposed Caalaa Shiikh group as fifth columnist who surreptiously placed themselves in Villa Somalia. These Caalaa Shiikh group unaccountable to anyone are in Villa Somalia and having captured the mind and heart of President Shariif are now furiously imploring him to oppose women in parliament as they claim this is against Islam.

About this faux pas, I don't see it as a big deal. It would be dismissed as minor peccadillo in any civilized society that prioritises important things in life. All I see a man who is trying to be nice and respectful but fumbling up out of honest mistake. Only seef-labood brigade and Alshabaabis would interpret this as "mocking Islam."
