Go to the stores near you and chose the ones you like best, and don't make money an issue, you come first.

I was browsing online at finish line, I totally forgot PUMA and FILA even existed until I saw the list of brands.
I know you get what you pay for but I was just asking around if anyone here had a good or bad experience with specific running shoes or certain brands when it comes to running shoes.

Running shoes, for running? You do track? If you're looking for athletic footwear for function, then there's a never ending selection.
If you don't care about function, I recommend any of these:
Onitsuka Tiger's

These come in a ridiculous amount of colours.
Puma Whirlwind
Chucks are always an easy buy.

I don't run track at the moment, just doing some endurance training, a week ago I ran 3 miles I was running in some old forces cause my running shoes were wore down, it was perhaps one of the dumbest thing I did in a very long time. I'm flat footed and running in those forces for that long cut the bottom of my feet, now I'm forced to get running shoes once again.
those shoes look like casual shoes, the Puma whirlwind looks nice though.

Right, so you want actual running shoes.
Try New Balance.
Some Onitsuka's are also good for running. I've got a nice pair.

Chucks are always an easy buy.

I'm a self confessed chucks abuser.
But I don't like to run track with it, I would've, if I could. But chucks are perfect for weightlifting, I need flat shoes for squats and dl's. And chucks just look good.

Same. I've got a few pairs. And I've just started going to the gym, so I guess I won't need another pair shoes.
