Arabic has always been used as an international language, so has English, and Italian. Somalis should know English, Arabic, Chinese, and Indian (whatever language is mainly spoken). This way they will knock down barriers to communication of ideas, buisness, education, etc. :som:

For them to ban arabic is equal to Al shabab banning Af Somali. Therefore, I don't see this as some kind of nationalism, or for practical reasons, but to impose their will on the people and businesses as a show of who is in charge now.

Are they banning it within the means of Business aspect, or Arabic for the gobolka oo dhan ? if its the latter one sounds like a practical joke.
Rabshoole obviously I dont think they are banning Arabic. Everyone can still study arabic in school and can talk or do whatever they want with the language, so long as every street name, all government documents, shop names etc are in Somali :som:

Is it illegal to ban Arabic writing in businesses? did the admin break any law in issuing this ban?

If your answers are NOs then you need to zip it.

well considering Somalia is lawless, without any real government, nothing is really legal or illegal. And the ban is stupid, it's an infringement on people's rights. Funny thing is, if Al Shabaab banned English you would be all up in arms about it. You can't even see your hypocrisy

What people's rights? It's the duty of the admin to promote the local language and demote the foreign ones. The Somali language should be preserved and protected at all costs.

Why would a business need to advertise in Arabic if all of his customers are Somali? who are we kidding here.

In that sense its a reasonable decision on their part
