According to the the Somali constitution, Arabic is an official language of Somalia. Hiiraan administration should have known that.

As if you guys are Arab? People in Jubbaland are racially closer to Maasai people than to Arabs.

If the Sudanese Northerners are Arab I am more Arab.

It's like arguing with a wall.
You only have to read the written Somali in the media to realize the state of the Somali language. Try to get an average farax or xaliimo (in or out of the country) to name random animals in Af Somali or name 4 Somali authors or even recite a Somali poem.
I don't think you understand the importance of preserving the Somali language, if you did you would know that preserving the language means protecting the Somali identity; heritage and culture.
What does any of that have to do with Arabic. Please make a clear and definite correlation. These store fronts where being written in Arabic (the language), after Alshabab forced them to remove the Afsoomaali (written). Most Somalis in Somalia don't even speak Arabic and if they do they speak better Soomaali (I base this on the fact that the colloquial language being Somali).
Please don't attack me to make your argument stronger. It does not matter whether I do or do not understand the importance of preserving the Somali language (spoken), though you clearly said
I'm afraid the whole argument of protecting the written Somali flew past you. No one is arguing about how many Faraxs speak the language
And now you are saying
Try to get an average farax or xaliimo (in or out of the country) to name random animals in Af Somali
Do you believe that they will be more likely to know them in arabic?
Frankly you are going in circles my friend. Make clear your argument of whether afsoomaali (spoken) or afsoomaali (written) is in danger. Then tell us clearly how arabic is the chief cause of the danger of afsoomaali written or spoken. Then tie that in with how the ban on stores from displaying their names and goods in arabic will remedy the situation.

Again you are confusing yourself, the farax and Xalimo comment was to illustrate the lack of fluency in af Somali. I have not attacked you nor am interested in attacking you, my second last comment was for Colonel and not you.
It seems we are going around in circles. You have not won any argument, you continue to confuse yourself as it's your habit when debating on Snet.
I am for Hiiran admin's decision to ban the use of the written Arabic language from businesses, you on the other are against the decision of the admin.
I support this
You can paste all kinds of dastuurs on here. Enjoy.

Other than paying lip-service to our status in the Arab league, there is absolutely no reason Arabic should be used in Somalia as a medium of instruction or in any other capacity outside of religious instruction/practice.
Although I find the idea of dictating how private business owners advertise a bit worrying, it's important that the Somali language and script holds a unique place in Somalia lest we become another Sudan.
There is already a growing trend of arabization in Somalia, from our children being given random Arabic names (I recently saw a kid named Aref) to our population adopting Arabic dress to people randomly interjecting Arabic words in conversation when a Somali word would suffice (yacni, akhi?).
The purity of Somali culture and language should be preserved

I agree with this ban.
Arabic is not even a spoken language in Somalia. It is used in religion, nothing more.
