right, scream with pain (or close)

jalaal, afmuslim/afgalo adage is filled with shallow pride and ignorance. The two dialects are both Somali, thus muslim language. The problem with our culture is that we inherited this hostile stand toward everything that doesn't belong to you from our nomadic forefathers. Our language and culture are very rich but we chose not to celebrate them. Instead, we ridicule and call each other names as soon as we sense a slight dialect in someone's tongue. Names like khaldan, elay and xayow (all negative) are used against ppl with specific accents.

I do agree with everything you say; just some minor corrections;
What you call xaayow is actually spoken in Xamar, shabeelada dhexe, galgaduud and all the way to the shores of mudug.
There is no dialect called Elay; It is Maay Maay . Elay is one many clans in southern somalia.
Qaldaan -from the southern somali context- is a dialect that is spoken north of Laas Caanod , all the way to Djibouti.

Paradoxically, the so called "Xaayow" accent is very similar to the dialect that is spoken in Bari.

qanaanshay = sreaming with pain. Thanks :up:
For sure our language and culture are very rich but we need to implant in our communities tolerance, equality, diversity and learning to live together.

1- Maymay
2- Berbera
3- Garowe (neither rer bari nor reer mudug and sounds like music to your ears when spoken by women... lol)
