A ghost city.

Yartaana maxaay ahayd? Somali translator?

The Xamar weyne/shingani area she was touring was not built according to Italian architecture as the speaker states... but that is secondary.

Is the gentleman her manager? I hope this is not a PR strategy to kick-start her career. That this is genuine.

I will do my out most best to convince my immediate family, my extended family, my friends, my tribe, my neighbors and others my influence extend to, never to invest another dime in Mogadishu, I don't care if those who destroyed it rebuild it or continue to munch away at the ruins, but when my family and I left Mogadishu as a infant, we left never to return.

The one thing I can never stop appreciating the Kacaan for, is investing in other parts of Somalia, such as the Kismaayo port, the Berbera port and the Bosaso port, the roads linking other parts together etc. This has made it possible for Jubaland, Somaliland and Puntland to create viable economies for themselves, and I hope people who were born or tribally connected to those regions to invest only there and not in Mogadishu.

It is beyond sick what happened in Mogadishu and although I disagree with the notion of separating into Small states, I approve 100% of investing outside of Mogadishu and living other places, specially now that it is possible to live a decent modern life in other parts of the country.

my family has roughly 23 properties in Mogadishu, a mix or land plots, warehouses and homes, this is just the descendants of my grandfather I am referring to, if my entire tribe pulls out of Mogadishu, it will mean they will have to make a new home in Somalia, and I hope they go to Beledxaawo, Kismaayo and Caabudwaaq with their money and investment.

These sort of videos are made to show only the dark side of Somalia/Somalis, but it is also a truth, something that needs to sink into every Somalis head, that what happened in Mogadishu was a genocide and something unseen in our history.

Look at how outsiders are showing around a Somali girl, whether it is the white man or the African security, it is beyond embarrassing walahi. This would not happen in Bosaso or Hargaysa, and it will not be allowed to happen in Kismaayo bi idnilahi Kariim.

I don't know how people live in that environment. Life is extremely harsh in the ghost city of Mogadishu.

Shukri's story was heartbreaking. She lost three children. I can't fathom what it would feel like to lose your children. Especially in the most horrible way imaginable. I would have lost it. This kind of stories it is all too common in Mogadishu.

I am amazed by the attitude of the people. They seem so optimistic despite living in the most dire situation. They are so resilient
