Free Online classes from top Univeristies

Postby SultanOrder » Tue May 08, 2012 3:35 pm

Universities are now offering more and more online classes for free, some with tests and grades at the end. These courses are not the typical camera-in-the-back-terrible-sound-quality videos proffessors have been putting up. Using the latest technologies they are now designed for this specific reason. The only downside is that it doesn't count as credit towards a degree. Still people who want to keep up with the latest classes without paying for them, those who value learning, etc now have a way to go to them. The subjects range from A-Z. The schools go from Yale, MIT, Stanford, etc.

I think this is a real boon to society, and the world at large. This is one of the great miracles of technology, and I can't wait for what the future has to hold.

Here are just a list of some of the courses available online.

Yup. There are some amazing courses and lectures you'll run into, if you know how to use YouTube.

That's good for those who value learning. What about those who value the credit that comes from learning? You mean to tell me that I can't get credit for the shit that I'm learning? I'm sure it's useful but.... DAMN!

I'm assuming for students who are already enrolled in a credit class and want to learn more about the class they're in, no?

Well if you want the credit pay up.

I think these kind of initiatives are to stimulate the mind. Making education available for everybody.

Great stuff, I watched a lecture on Islamic philosophy delivered by a professor from Yale. It was very good.
