How can reading quran can be a punishment i dont understand that- but according the quran this man did nothing wrong because Quran allows you to Beat your wife   quran says wadh rabuu Hunna

Image

Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allah would have them guard. But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance - [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike them. But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand.

man has right to beat their wifes according Islam

^hyper that's good but not for criminal behaviour. Obviously we haven't seen any pics of his wife but from the description in that article and the fact that she was hospitalised as a result and also the fact it made it to court shows that it was pretty serious. He should have been sent to jail and whipped in addition to memorising the Qur'an and hadeeth.

Mondey remember that Saudi presenter who got beaten to a pulp by her husband?
Rania Al Baz, she was married to a animal.

es, we are not in the court and we dont have all facts. we are here talking in general. i worked in family courts as internship; it could his wife forgave him in front of judge, could be first offense, it could be his wife knows jailing him not beneficial for her and her kids!! we dont know the facts. im sure the judge has all the facts and sentences accordingly. the family courts mostly have guidelines but judges have soo much falexability depends their situations, the class of the family and their community.

when you're dealing it and when you reading it, is different situation. im sure the family judge did the best for the family as a whole.

How can we use Qur'an and hadeeth as punishments? that alone is troubling.
You cant! Even though the intention behind it is good but who knows if this nigga will change after having memorized the hadiths and the quran verses? What if he doesn't change? Doesn't that make the punishment ineffective? I would say the Quran and hadith punishment should be secondary. First beat the shyt out of this nigga and cause him as much pain and damage as he caused her. Then you can tell him to memorize quran or hadith.

Lmao Since when Quran and hadiith was used as punishment! and the beating was so severe and thats all they gon say to him! subxaanallah diintii ayay ku ciyaareen
It's good, because once he read Allahs words he will be reminded of yoma alkhirah, and thanks to hadiths he will follow the sunnah, and learn how our rasuul csw was patient and kind to his wives and children.Either way Al hadaaya mina Allah, ending up in jail will not do any good to his family.Maybe in this way Allah will guide him to the right path.
Mashallah you are a wise young woman.

As a Muslim, aren't you suppose to the learn the diin regardless? You're held accountable on qiyaama.

I wonder if his wife agrees to what he's "sentenced" to do.

HE BEATS HIS WIFE TO A PULP AND HE'S 'PUNISHED' BY MEMORIZING THE QURAN? THAT'S NOT A PUNISHMENT!
CASTRATE HIM!
