Shirib, Come on bro. You mean to tell me you knew of it? It doesn't matter which way you put it, Luuq or Luuq Ganaane, it still doesn't ring a bell. I'm gonna do a research on whoever lives there and start clowning. 8-)

Ileen SK is dhaqan celis :)

Luuq is one of the more historically well known Somali towns. It is known as Lugh-Ferendi, Lugh-Ganane, or just Lugh/Luuq. It is in Gedo.

Sexy it's real, first time I heard the name Luuq I laughed lakin seeing the shape it kinda makes sense, it is a Luuq of the Jubba

Somalis are very literal, Wardhiigle is called that because there was a lot of fighting, Lafoole because loads of folks died there heck Balad Xawo is named after a lady who was called Xawo but then it makes you wonder about Iskushuban and Dhusomareeb

No those are its two nicknames. Lugh-Ferendi (Italian) is actually Lugh-Frenji because it used to be one of the highest concentrations of foreigners in Somalia (Arabs, Indians, Italians) and Lugh-Ganane because Ganaane is what the Jubba river is known as in Ethiopia.

They called it "Luuq" because as you can see it is encircled by the Jubba River thus being in a "Luuq".

Ask Murax for more info, it is the hometown of his father.
