Yes, Qoomaal is the name of a famous Somali singer and the original meaning of the word is blacksmith. It is the same as TUMAAL the only difference is that TUMAAL refers to one who works or engineers using and making all kinds of material, equipments and tools made from iron or other metals including gold and silver. However, QOOMAAL specialises in the trade of a blacksmith i.e. making knives, swords, keys etc etc. Therefore Qoomaal is sub-category of Tumaal

MidriGeez, is it not QIMAAL the word for lice in the habesha or Eriterean languages(amhara, tigre or tigrayans) and QIMAALA being the person with headlice?

Qimaal??? its qomaal In Tigrigna and Tigre Eritrean. you have to understand that even though its the same words as arabic 99% of the time the pronounciation would change by letter or a vowel. I don't know about amhara but their language is more Agew Than Geez and they can't pronounce half of the Geez Letters.

It is not qomal but Qoomaal, with double vowels oo & aa. Plus, it is the name of a sub-clan of Rahanweyn, which is the sub-clan of the singer, I think.
