....just wondering how common this is? It's all the rage amongst the people of the Gulf these days. Have you guys ever seen a Somali family/person with a pet dog(s)? I haven't except for maybe Somali thugs, we know they like to brandish a staff around for their protection. I love dogs and would love one very much! How about you guys?

when i was little back Somalia i had goat pet and then one day i came home and i could not find my lovely little goat (it was called WAXAR) after looking for it every where and around the neighborhood my mother convinced me that it stolen and would buy me a new one soon the neighbour's goat gives birth to one.
later that day my older brother came to me and told me he had found my goat, I ran to him screaming in excitement ''mmeedey, meedey'' then he showed his his dinner plate and a piece of meat on it.
I never wanted to own another pet ever again.

No thanks. I'm more of a cat person even though the last time I had a cat was when I was a kid. I still miss that kitty called Tyson.

Same shid happened to me.
ES,
I owned a dog back in Somalia in the 80s. It served more as a guard dog than family one. Dogs require a lot of work. You have to feed them three times a day, medicate them and give them exercise. However, they are loyal and protective

I'd love to get one but I travel too often and can't take care of one. When I settle down permanently, I will probably get a Doberman.

Doberman..great breed, though not my type. I'm more of a beagle, retriever lover.
Btw AW what did you used to feed that dog since there wasn't any tinned dog food around back then in Somalia.?

This is dhaqan gaalo/Kuffar culture.
Wouldnt mind to have a dog guarding my house/xoolo, or a dog for hunting
I like Cats though.
One day i finished working, this cat followed me all the way to home.

I don't like dogs. My brother got bit by a street dog in Cairo while it was chasing us. He had to take injections for the next 3 months.

Granted if dogs were not xaram, I'd get myself a dogo argrentina, known for its ferociousness and over protective behavior

In reality I'm more of bird man, I'd get myself a parrot.

Bro, most scholars agree that you can have a dog outside house to guard your house.
Also you are allowed to touch them aslong they are not wet.
