THE MIRACLE WATER VILLAGE in INDIA

This is how success was achieved in that village:
1. Perception change on water management;
2. Construction of contour trenches in nearby hills to ensure erosion is reduced and the water table is replenished;
3. The planting of bigger trees on the hills to ensure soil erosion is reduced;
3. The adoption of drip irrigation system instead of flood irrigation to ensure water is not lost unnecessarily.
Unfortunately, in Somalia, Somalis are burning the trees in a massive scale for charcoal exports, and the effects of these activities are devastating to the environment.
