This is why I say we are NOT ready to be represented in the OLYMPICS now, if they can't even manage to provide simple thing as shoes, how were they properly trained in the first place?

Advo,

Instead of sending them to train In Peaceful countries like Kenya, they were running in the streets of mogadishu got shot at sometimes. Did you look at the little balbalo that Samsam Farah and her mother lived? How would she compete with an athlete whose country has spent millions to take care of them.
“Imagine when you live in a country that hasn’t got a sports stadium,” said Farah, who will compete in the women’s 800 and 1,500 meters at London’s new Olympic Stadium — a stark contrast to where she has prepared.

“We had nowhere to run and train except on the streets of Mogadishu at a time when the fighting was at its worst,” she told The Associated Press.

“We still had to train and run, getting up very early in the morning, running past road blocks manned by armed militias. Sometimes the soldier on guard would mistake us for being suicide bombers or attackers, and order us to stop or they would shoot.”

Sometimes they would also be detained for long periods by suspicious soldiers and abandon their training for the day. Sometimes it was too dangerous to go out at all.

The two runners are the troubled east African country’s only athletes at the London Games, but they said the risks were worth taking to realize their Olympic dreams.

“I really wish that I will win something because I have been training so hard,” Mohamed told The Associated Press. He will run the 1,500 and 5,000 meters in London. “We train in the morning and afternoon ... despite the fact that there are hardly any sporting facilities here.”

Somalia leaders need to be sacked asap and whoever replaces 'em gotta learn how to manage money. How come no money is invested in the sport Department? A year ago, I was watching a vid on how these guys train and they said after training all they consume is a cup of tea? :x They need to be provided for: gears, nutrition, a place to train and everything else an athlete needs to succeed. I am really beginning to lose hope in somalis altogether.

What? They couldn't afford to invest in some lacag on these kids? It's sad that these kids voluntarily chose to do ths with no community or a country pressuring them N still not be provided for. How can you hold an election when the country is filled with corrupted niggars like the ones Rallyin' for the presidential chair?

All this publicity seems dubious at best. Am sure they had shoes, but the story of shoe-less athletes ducking bullets while training would sell and recieve much sympathy from the well-off to do white communities that read them.
