VOA Poll: Somalia Constitution

Postby Amirsade » Wed Jul 25, 2012 10:39 am

The poll has allowed Somalis to share their views regarding the document's most controversial articles. VOA's Somali Service polled 3,000 Somalis about key provisions of the draft constitution and the kind of government they would like to have.

87 percent of those surveyed want Islamic law.

An additional 6% said they slightly agree, while only 7% said they disagree completely. The figure would be a lot higher if it was only people living in Somalia surveyed.
