The New Constitution (is a joke)

Postby zingii » Thu Aug 02, 2012 8:43 am

It states in the so called constitution that Puntland and Galmug are part of the federal system while Somaliland was not mentioned.

*** The so called constitution deprives the federal government the constitutional legetimacy of representing Puntland and Somaliland
in the international arena. :|

*** Although foreign affairs, national defense, citizenship and immigration, and monetary policy shall be part of the remit of the federal government, existing member states such as(Puntland) retain and exercise their powers on the basis of their State Constitutions independently from the federal government. Yet, the federal government must consult at all-time with member states on matters related to federalism, security and foreign affairs.

*** The international laws and the laws of other countries are over the Somali Law in all matters as per article 40 (2) on the interpretation of the fundamental rights.

*** Existing member states of the federal government are exempt from the contribution to the costs of federal govenment's nominal representation of all Somalis. Residents of non- existing member states bear federal government's financial burden.

There are many flaws in the constitution but of course depending on which article and also your personal views on each subject. I read somewhere that the Somalia Constitution guarantees more rights and freedoms than the US Constitution

Somaliland is not mentioned as a federal state because they are not a federal state of Somalia. However, the constitution does say that Somalia's border reaches Djibouti, which obviously means that they regard Somaliland part of Somalia territory. It may be that way on paper and to the international community, but that is not the case on the ground.

Flaws aside, they did do one thing right. Guaranteeing more female involvement in politics.

:?: :?:

They are not part of the federal states but our border reaches Djibouti????

How is this suppose to make sense without confusing all involved parties and thus create conflict.

In the near future, if nothern administration argues that they are not mentioned in the constitution placing them outside the fold of the federal government and in turn the federal government points out that it is mentioned in the constitution our border reacehs Djibouti, Who would win the argument?

Zingi, no one is interested in dealing with the Somaliland issue at the moment. Nevertheless, we have not all of a sudden given them up.

The one that bothers me and has my blood boiling is "The international laws and the laws of other countries are over the Somali Law in all matters as per article 40 (2) on the interpretation of the fundamental rights"

If this aint bull then i dont know what is bull anymore.

Every nation receives onto themselves a leader reflective of the masses...

Everything that can be said about Somalia's leaders is merely an extension of the characteristics of their population.

We deserve our leadership and their chosen constitution Manta Mantaan Maanta waa malin weyne maanta

a constitution is not a quran
it will take years if not decades to be corrected and re-written
