Alot of good muslim smokes its not like alcohol it is a bad habit but if their niyya is good then all is Mashallah.

The prophet said the Niyya (intention) is better then the act.

why do people pick and choose parts of the religion they want to follow?

smoking KILLS you. smoking a form of SUICIDE. smoking is a WASTE of money. smoking effects WORSHIP. there a multitude of hadiths/verses that categorically reject smoking as HARAM.

“And do not kill yourselves. Surely, Allah is Most Merciful to you. And whoever commits that through aggression and injustice, We shall cast him into the Fire and that is easy for Allah”” [Surah an-Nisaa 4: 29]

“And do not throw yourselves into destruction.” [Surah al-Baqarah 2:195]

i was just pointing out the hypocrisy of those muslims that take quranic rulings on different issues by convenience.

i never said smoking nullifies prayer or allah doesn't accept prayer of those who smoke. the hadith just says those with bad odour/smell should avoid places of worship.
