Somalis have such a reer baadiye mentality when it comes to education. His chances aren't limited. If anything, the social sciences enable him to have a more open career path; in addition, once you enter a top school, you can argue that the degree isn't as important as the school's name recognition with employers. Any degree from Oxford won't "limit" his chances, especially if he networks correctly. Do you know who studied political science and economics at Oxford? Prime Ministers, parliament members. Do you know who attends Oxford? The children of the elite. As long as he keeps his head up and shakes a few choice hands, he'll do very well for himself.isn't Oxford like Harvard? It doesn't matter what you major in, you'll get the connectionsIf he is that good in science, why economics and political major in Oxford? A wasted talent. He could have done better in Engineering or Other science fields.
His chances can be limited later on with the political science degree and economics.
