Sarah learned she was about to marry her mother’s 35-year-old cousin
and it goes
Her husband had two other wives, who are now 45 and 16 years old, respectively

Typical somali girls cheap and clean.
why is it always we have the biggest liar in somali women?

A rich 35 years old does is not married to an old frail 45 years old women.
maybe he got rich from the 45 yr old....

These things happen. I met a bruised up boy who could not speak proper Somali in Mogadishu. He had many visible injuries which I don't want to disclose for privacy reasons. We conversed and he told me his parents tricked him and sent him to all boys boarding school in Bosaso. He said it was a living hell, worse than a prison. At night they had to do their toilet needs with plastic bags. Some of the boys tried to overpower the guards to free themselves and all hell got loose. This poor boy was beaten badly by guards. Finally Puntland government intervened and freed all the boys. He had no family members in Puntland and was flown to Mogadishu where I met him. Still the parents want to keep him in Somalia.

It is true many Somali families take disobedient kids and mentally ill people back to somalia  Are we denying that?
How can parents do this to their children, leave them all alone and then go back to the west? :o
This will do them more harm then good.

For the reasons sighted by Djib ...I also think this is utter bullshit.
Somali people do not marry uncles and aunts ..I even think it's xaaraam
You can't marry your parents siblings. But your parents cousins are halaal to marry.

moon, they were in the hundreds. I saw another one too with less injuries. I am not sure if any of them died but some were seriously injured. The incident happened close to four months ago and you probably met another one who was taken to Ethiopia. These two boys came here straight.

Is a boarding school where the kids dont come out at all. The kid was selling drugs at a early age. Is not always black and white Salool. Some of these kids would beat up their own mother to get money from her, trust me i seen it. They will either end up in prison or shot dead if they stayed in the west at the time. Plus their parents could have been providing for at others at the time and needed to work.

Not all the boarding schools are as extreme as the one Warya is telling us btw.

So what's up with Bosaso why do most dhaqancelis kids end up in Bosaso prisons? Is the only place in Somalia for dhaqancelis?

The guy I met told me that Alshabaab type of people are running the prison he was in. They dressed like Arabs he said every morning they use to beat me he said I learned the Quran fast, which i think is very good think that they taught him the Quran but he wasn't happy becouse of the other things they done to him.

This should worry any girl going to Somalia to 'see the beautiful beaches and the peaceful progress our people have made.' There is always ulterior motives when things like this suddenly happen.
Hidden agendas aren't "always" there you know? Some parents take their daughters or children in general for some genuine cultural refinement. Don't take strange cases that occur seldom and use it to misinform the public. It's clear that this artaicle is overly biased.

 that was cool story from her, only needed more dragons.

Somalia weey iska ba'dey, not only does she have to deal with 10 million possibly mentally ill population but also all the scums from the west, if u see a young girl there for a period longer than vacation trip she was probably a club addict and on the fast life, if u see a dude most likely with extensive record and drug dealer back in America/Europe.

btw, forced dhaqancelis is becoming harder these days thanks to technology. i know some kids who complained about their parents to the authorities through emails and the parents brought them back instantly when the authorities came knocking on the door. :o
