The ginger isn't, couldn't find organic ginger at my local farmers market. But, since I only use a small piece of it, didn't really stress on it. I make sure my main ingredients e.g. the kale, spinach, celery and cucumber are always organic, otherwise because of their porous nature, they would've soaked up a lot of chemicals. Difference in price is usually $2-$3.
What do you make about the recent reports about how organic is no better than conventional food, and that it isn't worth?

I read the study and agree with it. There was never any doubt about organic and conventional produce having the same nutrients and minerals, which is all the study showed. That was never in question. What attracts me and many others to organic food is the process through which such food is grown and harvested i.e. without the use of harmful chemicals known to cause long-term and even terminal illnesses. Chemicals our bodies have managed to do without for thousands of years of farming, but which have become the accepted norm in the last 60 years. It's unfortunate the study was taken out of context by the media and probably by agri-corp lobby groups hell bent on keeping the masses ignorant and confused about all the shit they've been doing to our food the last few decades. The same way they have succeeded at convincing everyone that organic food is somehow way more expensive than conventional food, it isn't. The difference is minuscule and worth it.

I am 5'5 and 146 lbs I need to lose atleast 25 lbs for my height.
You don't need to lose 24 lbs, you have healthy BMI (Body Mass Index). As long as your BMI is within the medically recommended 20-25 range, you're in good shape health wise. Your BMI is 23.

The best diet is one that is low on processed food and high on unprocessed or raw foods. That means no fast foods (obviously), no white bread (whole grain instead), no ice cream, sugar or any food that was processed. Processing removes most of the nutrients from foods so what you eventually eat has only 10-20% the nutrients of the original food in the field right after harvest.

But you can't rely on fruits and vegetables alone as they lack protein and fats which your body absolutely needs. Fruits and vegetables are carbohydrates; you also need healthy protein and fats. You should get your proteins from lean sources like chicken breast, fish, steak (but only occassionally), supplements like Whey protein, etc. Good fats are found in olive oil, nuts and supplements.
