King MJ we only have sell-outs in London like YSS. I wanted a Faarax with Somali values and genuine (but lame) Somali humour. London only has Jafaikans.

Skywalker I have actually seen some seriously decent poetry on Snet in the past but none of these guys are here these days.

Meyle, waa maxey halaag, do you mean 'waa hagaag'?
Halaag literally means torment, as in, that person is so funny its a torment. The word is mostly used in northern Somalia and is one of the many reasons southerners call us qaldaan.
Qaldaan waaxid

You know poetry lost it's importance in our culture when Oday shirwac's joints are called 'poetic'. :wow: His work is, if anything, embarrassing and for a grown man to NOT only write such bullshyt but sing it and broadcast it just adds to the embarrassment.

If you want to know what somali poetry is, then refer back to men like ismaciil mire, ibrahim cayo, suldaan timacade, dhoonyacab, faarax afcad, faarax caytame, qamaan bulxan, keenadiid, weerar bulxan, mohamed bulxan, saahid qamaan, cali dhuux and sayid mohamed. Oday shirwac's work is farrrrrr from poetry,

Do I have to make it explicit for you elitesomali? I am making fun of Odey Shirwac and I am 100% aware of the great Somali poets having met some of them and studied them at university. Did you really believe that anyone here is in awe of such infantile writings? I copied and pasted them from his Facebook of all places, I was just having a laugh.

My mistake. At first I tho it was sarcasm but some of the responses made it seem like it wasn't.
