"Not only didn’t she cover herself up, but she also insulted me. I asked her not to insult me anymore, but she started shouting and threatening me," Beheshti said. "She pushed me and I fell to the ground on my back. From that point on, I don’t know what happened. I was just feeling the kicks of the woman who was beating me up and insulting me." :russ:

He said he was hospitalized for three days following the attack.:ehh:

Is the video part of this story?
And the most awesome woman of the year award goes to......
Why is this a good thing? She hospitalized someone. And chances are he was much older than her.

I am sure on judgement day everyone is accountable for their actions and not the actions of others, that old man should have known better instead of harassing Muslim girls. Besides if one can't mind their own business then they should at least be ready for the consequences cause you can't just dish it without the ability to take it. Come on son!

What made you come to that conclusion?

Nah, she should be sent to prison. You gotta be kidding with this bullshit.

Had he touched her (assuming the article contains all the necessary truths), this would've been a different story.

@ Alpha: "Had he touched her?" Now you're just splitting hairs my friend, from where I stand it's harassment, and since when is harassment a good thing? But the more important question is "are we really arguing over the internet?"

Internet is made for arguing. You might be lost

"Had he touched her" is an important distinction to make here. I've never mentioned whether or not his action was good or bad, but verbal harassment doesn't deserve physical assault. This is some crazy shit you're saying. Kinda surprised it's coming from you, man.

She could've simply replied or ignored his complaints. He should sue her for assault.

@Alpha= What can I say, I like girls who don't take no bullshit from anyone, and that's all I saw in this article, a girl that doesn't take BS. Now some might say she should have just stood there and took all the old man's "advice" in silence, and quite frankly that's their opinion, I for one won't call them crazy for stating their opinion. Does she have the right to defend herself from harassment? Of course, at least in some parts of the world. Did she go overboard a bit? Of course, and to assume otherwise is just silly. Do I agree with what she did? Let's just say without condemning or condoning, I understand where she is coming from that's all.

(Seriously? Are we really going to take internet seriously? lol Ok fine, BRING IT ON! )

You said it yourself, she went overboard. Supporting and even advocating for unwarranted violence doesn't paint anyone well. You can't acknowledge her wrong but suggest it was right. That ain't gunna fly with anyone. Her violence was either warranted and she shouldn't be held accountable, or it wasn't and she should be arrested and probably sentenced. It seems your like here has superseded law and logic. "Feminist" was a good labeling.

You've dropped a few rungs from awarding her "the most awesome woman of the year" to being unsure about condemning her. Take a few steps back, removing your own opinions, and view the situation for what it is; physical assault as a reaction to verbal harassment.

Had the roles been reversed, I wonder what you would've said.

You of all people should know that was sarcasm, but sorry for joking around. If I knew someone would take my post so seriously I wouldn't have made it. :|

You're right, and I am wrong. I'm not feminist and I will prove it by punching random woman in the ovary if that makes you feel good. Again sorry about my first post, and you win the debate. Sooooooo........are we good?
