How strong is your instinct?

Postby Saraxnow » Tue Oct 23, 2012 7:18 pm

This prof. spoke in a way that made me sense he was a form of da'ee even though the subject he was talking about had no direct relation to do with deen. He spoke confidently and with clarity, and asked us questions that had almost nothing to do with the topic taking a somewhat ''philosophical'' angle :''what do you see in this drop of water?'',displaying an image. Some said, it looks as if it's bouncing back up from the body of water, another said they see ripples and waves, ''Ripples...I like that'' he replied. I thought it looked like a molecule cos it must be what he's trying to get at.He then proceeded to say it was a matter of perspective, and that as a scientist who worked in the field for 20 years all he sees are electrostatic interactions, hydrogen bonding, H2 and O2 atoms etc, all in that one image. That plastic table? He sees long polymer chains bound together by chemical bonding. Exaggeration much?. Maybe yes, maybe not.

Anywho, the body language and style of speech was familiar and instinct said that he just must be Muslim. The name is as ''non-Muslim'' as can be,no signs you can tell of, yet you sense it?.

A week later:

Rumour has it he was spotted in Jumua'h, in the prayer hall.Instinct wins! :whoo: :dead:

P.S.
Imagine discussing the latest nanomedicines in drug delivery over dinner? :dwill: Akkhhiii :eat:

Someone can punch me in the face before I see the fist coming.

I used to think like that prof, back in high school while studying for chem tests. I don't think I was always right lol.

And yes, nanomedicine is an awesome subject.

When I meet someone I can't help but prejudge them and most of the time I'm right. I have a habit of looking at someone and deciding whether or not I like them before getting to know them. I guess it's an instinct thing. Me and my mate once met this chick I straight away said I didn't like her, I was like yh I don't like the look or sound of her even though she was acting dead sweet. Suprise suprise I was right about her, she turned out to be a bitchy, lying, hateful, jealous, spiteful and rumour spreading undividual. I don't think I've ever met someone who is jelous, lies and makes up shxt and spreads nonsense as much as she does.

My instint is almost always correct. but the post of the original post has nothing to do with instinct. It is just an interpretation of someones lecture followed by some rumours. The prof was spotted at a prayer hall

^^ Don't jelly me with that infamous feminine jellaphilicity . A Muslim guy mentioned this, he was right and I did see him go in today, only registered Muslim students/staff have access to it.

Sara,

Yeah, probably not nearly as precise though lol. I'd consider esters when I smelt something, electron excitations when turning on a light, carbs when eating lol. It also helped with bio; protein denaturing when cooking, the molecular breakdown of food.

Been a while since I thought of that stuff.

At times it happens that we meet someone for business purpose and i feel uneasy dealing with him, if i got a partner i normally keep quite if i dont, i try to continue conversing but look clues. i m not always right but i have seen many ppl whom i felt uneasy with them at 1st meeting turn out to be a bad apple.
