I love diversity in Somalia to a certain extend

Postby Adali » Fri Nov 23, 2012 3:33 pm

its all fun and interesting to learn about different sub-cultures from people who originate from different parts of the country, but when I can't understand what they are saying because their parents never bothered to teach them proper Somali it pisses me off, I never thought I would feel this way and I hope it doesn't come across as xenophobic because as you are aware I love diversity.

Anyone who wants to call themselves Somali should at the very least be able to converse in the language, for fucks sake learn how to speak Aabo Siyaad's Somali, take classes if you have to, make friends with Reer Mudug/Hawd and learn how to speak the bloody language.

If you can't speak real Somali you are a JOOOOOOOKE ! it should be f-king compulsory, and it was when we had a functioning government, but some parents really failed their qaxooti children.

When I read the title the first thing that came to mind was some redneck saying "I am not racist, I have black friends" lol. I'll be first to admit I don't understand certain dialects, to me it might as well be Greek. If you don't understand certain Somali dialects that's one thing but to say that those people who don't speak "Aabo Siyaad's Somali" ( whatever the fuck that means, as if the guy you mentioned invented the language itself) are a joke is completely uncalled for. To me there is no "proper Af-Somali" we all got our own way, deal with it, or better yet shut the fuck up.

Somalia could have been the land of opportunity for everybody if qabil would not have focked it up. Even though I love and respect Kacaanka government, I don't think it has invested as much time and money to promote Somali Bantus education as it should be. Maybe it is due to poverty and war. I wish I was in a position where I had a say in the Society. I would have constructed hundreds of Schools and Universities for the Somali Bantus. Very Smart and Productive Bros and Sis but they haven't been given opportunity.

The different dialects, cultures, customs and the diversity in looks, is what makes Somalia so beautiful. I just wish they would except each other for thier differences, and work together as brothers and sisters.

Kir iyo kud, saa uu sii socootay, goosaha Isku dhufta aa keentay.

Faraax puhleease, unuka naga ilaali afkaas, and you have no say whatsoever in what is the proper Somali. As far as I'm concerned there is no right or wrong way of speaking Somali by the indigenous people of Somalia.

How do you think social welfare will be implemented if this new parliament works out specially for minorities? I would love to see a system like Sweden for the minorities and all those refugees in dadaab etc.. Or is everyone just gonna look out for their kinfolk? :/

AgentOfchaos, as your name suggest you do not believe in order, you are a blatant anarchist who has his lips firmly wrapped around the dickhead of division. Somalia is 1 :som: and the language is 1 :som: , you pathetic imbecile, I noticed you fixated on the mention of Aabo Siyaad, yet another butt-hurt anti-sade cunt.

caburiye1, I disagree, proper Somali was promoted during those years, many teachers originating from the central regions and elsewhere who had a fundamental grasp of the language were trained in the language to be sent all over the country to promote the language, during the Kacaan era there was such a high social responsibility that even young students, my parents and probably also others Snetters parents took part in teaching the minorities how to speak proper Somali. mustn't forget the written language was also adopted during the Kacaan and there was an immense effort in the Media to promote the proper language, many older people know exactly what I mean by Aabo Siyaad's Somali because they themselves say he taught them the language through listening to his speeches, Somalia experienced her own "somali reawakening" arts/culture/language were taken serious and even institutions were established to enhance the language like for instance there was an institution that would name new things after existing words that were related to it. Aabo Siyaad did not invent the language as maliciously suggested by the cranky SlutOfchaos, but he did indeed revitalize it for the benefit of the masses, you did not have to be from an affluent Mogadishu background or be from Mudug were the proper language originates from to speak the proper Somali, every man with radio was tuned in and was listening to Aabo Siyaad's powerful speeches, indeed he was an eloquent speaker, one of his many legacies actually.

I love diversity, dialects are to be spoken at home, and proper Somali to be spoken as a means to communicate with fellow Somalis. :som:
