Don't send your kids to full time Islamic school

The academics are not so good (not just in the science department either), the staff are not very qualified, the student body is not any better than at comparable public schools. and most importantly your children will not assimilate into the culture and accept its values. Public schools (and some private secular schools) are important because they teach children good values (like tolerance of diversity, love of freedom, respect, etc) while devoting their full attention to academics and not religion. Parents can teach their children religious values at home or send them to moderate weekend duugsi classes. Full time Islamic schools are dangerous because they teach children to consider their fellow citizens infidels (worthless immoral people bound for hellfire), promotes gender inequality, and the children are not exposed to new ideas or people diffident from them.

That is why i want my child to attend only private secular schools that emphasis science and english language ,they can learn the quran and islamic religion at week ends.
Full time islamic schools are called madras and the quality of education is poor ,the kid will be ignorant about science,professionalism and civic duties.

I agree with union on this but not for the exact same reasons he thinks the children will be brainwashed to hate western societies and democratic values i just wont send my kids to Islamic schools because the quality of education is just below the level of other schools here in Europe. The school teachers of Islamic schools are most of the time not educated enough to teach they are under qualified to teach in a high schools or a primary schools. There is nothing wrong with learning Islamic ethics and principles but at the same time getting good education this is just not the case with Islamic schools.

Wrong. You can't say a school is bad simply because of religious affiliation. It all depends on the quality of teachers, who attends them, parental incomes, and funding.

Catholic schools are some of the best in the Toronto area, but they can also be some of the worst.

There's no current rating system for Islamic schools in this area, so I can't say much about it. The schools aren't intergrated into the system and don't really communicate with each other, but had they been I wouldn't be surprised if you found Islamic schools on either end of the spectrum.

Catholic schools should universally be avoided because the Catholic Church has a culture of protecting/not exposing the pedophiles within its priesthood who have molested thousands of children entrusted to its care in dozens of countries.

I went to one, and I agree that the academics tend to be subpar. I see no harm in sending your kids to one for elementary school, though; just make sure to get them out by the age of 10.

Good Islamic schools are the exception. The rule is as Khalid has described, ineffective schools with unqualified teachers.
