Papua, New Guineans don't seem to find it too objectionable. I don't believe religion was the sole "creator" of morality in humans, nor do I believe that that is the sole reason we find murder bad. But I DO believe it gave us a conscience, and it gives us faith and hope, and something to believe in. If we had nothing to believe in, life would lose it's lustre. And we'd lose a lot of hope in times of trouble. We NEED something omnipotent to believe in. It's just a necessity. NOT religious dogma, per se. But at least the fundamental belief in God. We need it. It's a good thing.
