sir, okoth is a famous east african professional from kenya, he played for club brugge for many years before he switched to genk, another belgium club where i think he played and untill age catched up with him and he retired. that's only footballer from the region whose made to europe as far i know. eastafrican are not known for producing the best footballers in the world but what we lack in football, we made up for distance running. 10,000, 5,000 and 1,500 are strictly east african territories.

Qudhac,

Awoow I think every fukken West African nation is represented in the world arenas, be it Senegal, Cameroon, Ivery Coast, Ghana, even fukken Mali!!! can you believe it? wheras we have not even one. I think Somalis are the most talented in the region but they are lacking the muscle, motivation (Financially) and the drive.

Coolio,

Even distant running is for only two countries, Kenya and Ethiopia

The best player that east Africa has ever produced and "arguably" the best player the whole continent has ever produced, if we disregard fame and fortune, is none other than Saciid Ducaale, which I assume many of you dont know and he is one of us, a Somali.

if by east africans you mean somalis/ethios/eris/djiboutians, forget about it. it's not going to happen...Blame it on the genes...a good majority of them fall into one of the three categories below.
1) mijo baasto for the most part, captain kaneec, feedho yaryar
2) "chinese" body i.e. no muscle tone...in other words, wey isdhex yaalan
3) a combination of the above two...

It's true that the best african footballers are from west africa, the only east african i 've read about is a player called oliech and i think he plays in a dutch club, most east african footballers play in india. But then the only somali playing football is the one in holland, cannot remember his name now.

We talking about soccer/kick ball here, right?

Talent has nothing to do with the size of your muscles. It’s all about the heart.

Somalis lack of motivation and financial resources not a talent.
