Few people know the man who started it was Somali who later became very accomplished.

His name was Adan Shire Jama but came to be known as Adan Loow (Adan Knee) because he was wounded in the knee fighting in Italy's Partisan War. He was Marehan from Wardheer in the Ogaden.

it's a damn shame that ultimately they ended up supporting the losing side. It's funny to notice how back then policitcal correctness didn't exist. For example in the video i posted they constantly refer to ethiopians as backwards and primitive. in the transcript you posted they refer to the border war of somalia as "growth of cross-border hooliganism and outlawry." Thats poor literacy :down:

The orientalist talk in those times isn't that surprising. It was the norm. Political correctness is a consequence of Western imperialism---it developed to curb the limitations of Western colonialist imperialism.

As for choosing sides, I don't think they had much choice.
