Starting tomorrow, I am starting my quest to give up meat, milk and eggs. These three food items have been linked to causing liver cancer, obesity, heart disease, diabetes, to name a few. Watch this documentary and realize how harmful it is to eat these foods.

Anything can be harmful, the key is moderation. I have cut out red meats out of my diet but I am tempted here and there to have hilib adhi when I visit my family. If you exercise/burn enough calories you will be fine.
You can't eat healthy and be a fat ass(lazy) and expect to look healthy because eating healthy is half the battle.

Yeah, valid points. How does it feel when you eat red meats ? There are days, I feel sick eating red meat.
Alchemist,
Trust me, all those Liver Diseases that Somalis complain are either liver cancer or Hepatitis. The Liver cancer part can be avoided by not eating red meat which leads to the accumulation of fat in your liver.

That will be sooner than you think based on how much hilib you consume daily: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Agent,
Well, you are young wait until you hit 30 and see how your stomach revolts.

I feel guilty but goat meat is the only one I eat now, but been sticking to turkey/chicken/fish and falafel/fuul which tastes like hilib but it's not.

Samatr,
When I was in the motherland, I actually used to eat much less meat as it got tiresome after a while: goat, goat and i was not fond of geel nor iido. Yet I kept it all balanced out with eating Cambuulo and sabuul every evening (filling, high fiber, kept the GI tract very happy).

FAH,
Did you hear about the arsenic levels in the rice we consume ? Mindblowing high levels of this carcinogen !
