Looooooool@ dadka is yeelyeelayya saying no their culture is not similar to ours.

Looks wise, religion wise and culture wise they are IDENTICAL to Somalis.

They are reer miyyi nomadic people, they practise female genital mutilation, women do most of the work such as building the huts, gathering wood for fire etc just like it is in Somalia TODAY and their men are irresponsible lazy layabouts just like men in Somalia TODAY. Even their language has many words used by Somalis.

google afar tribe and post the pics you see (especially the women) then you can say if they are similar to us or not. [hint: siday ku dhasheen bay u labisaan ]

p.s. only the djibouti ones have been somali-ized but the ones in ethiopia/eritrea are the original ones and that is their true culture.

for their population size they have large lands. horta the ethiopians are very stupid aren't they, instead of warring with eritrea for decades over sea access why didn't they just give annex canfar lands in eritrea (which is most of the coast of eritrea) they could have even played the nationalist card and convinced their canfar to be reunited with their brothers in eritrea and djibouti.

Ethiopian elites dont want well atleast the TPLF that especially the Tigrayans in the future if the Amxaaros take over they want to form a state with Afar and Tigray to form alliance called Abay tigray a greater tigray and later to to get Eritrea's afar sea coast.

The afar elders made some bad decisions the afars if they were smart they would convince the french to make the Eritrean afar territory french territory. But instead they signed a treaty with the Italians. And even the Sultans in Ethiopia of the afar branch of the awsa sultanate they were on the edge to sign a treaty with Italy so that the italians could use afar territory in Ethiopia to attack Menelik. King Menelik crushed the afars before they could even let the Italians in afar territory And that was the end of afar Sultanate in Ethiopia. With Italy colonizing Eritrea and France colonizing Djibouti the afars were once again divided its a very sad state for the afars .
