Somali names: Knock-off Arab?

Postby hydrogen » Sat Feb 09, 2013 9:45 pm

Names like Abdikarim are so wrong on a islamic basis because abdu means slave of and karim is a name of Allah, but abdikarim has not meaning. Just like Mohamud, where did that come from?

I have a feeling they are not 'Somali' names like Sharmaake and Rageh but infact ones lost in translation.

It was a thread asking a real question, maybe your mind is too compound to understand?

It is supposed to be Abdu- Something.

Otherwise you're just calling yourself a slave to anyone and not Allah.
