Who knows, there are infinite number of possible outcomes so it's hard to tell. May be the Somali Civil War never occurred in that universe, or may be the Civil War still happened there and that Somalia is strikingly similar to but slightly different from our own, who knows.

The assassination wasn't the event that sparked the descent into the abyss but it was merely the lack of decision by the Prime Minister at the time to move quickly to prevent the coup which was an open secret at the time.

And yes, we would have been a peaceful democracy where our battles would be fought in parliament and nefarious coalitions based on self interest would be formed.
