He stated his opinion that I'm trying assert the idea that all Somalis look like the Oromo woman he posted on the last page. I suppose that was a displeasing idea to him so he had to share his opinion that Somalis don't look like his typical idea of a black/Cushitic woman. Which is why he may have found my username questionable. It may also be why he doesn't mind that those girls claim to be Somalis when they are not ethnic Somalis. If they looked like Alek Wek, I doubt he would argue that they are Somalis.All those girls whose pictures you posted look very Somali except for this one. And the girls from that video do not look anything like an ethnic Somali. They are mostly from those minority non-ethnic Somali groups from the coastal regions. Even their names are not typical Somali names judging by the facebook links on their youtube profiles.

Both claim to be Somali and the one on the left tells her story of coming to America when she was 11 and being married to an older male. She talks about her abuse and experiences. I think it's important to spread awareness about abuse and issues that must be addressed but she claims to be Somali... personally I find this to be questionable because neither look Somali to me. The one on the left looks more Pakistani and has an accent that is definitely not Somali and sounds more South Asian perhaps, to me, but not African or specifically Somali. The girl on the left looks slightly more Somali but barely. She looks more like the mixed Bantu Somalis from the South and it doesn't help that she is wearing a wig, as Somali girls rarely do as their hair easily can appear the way her wig does.
The reason I am posting this is because their claim of being Somali makes the issue appear to be one related to Somalis when it is not. Somali girls are married of early at times but usually young teenagers are married off. It's unheard of for ethnic Somalis to marry off their 11 year old child. What do you think?

No, I am not trying to project any image of Somalis. I know what my people tend to look like and I'm honestly perplexed at how people, who are clearly not ethnic Somalis, claim to be ethnic Somalis. If you find it pleasing that non-Somalis whose appearance is more favourable to you than that of Oromos (as you implied), that does not change their lack of mainly ethnic Somali heritage.Isn't that what you are doing? those girls (in the video) are pure Somalis, Get over it.
